I recently switched from Windows 8 to 8.1 and it doesn’t feel right. I’m thinking about returning to Windows 7 (can’t locate my W8 key), but I don’t want to reinstall everything again. Is there a method to transfer my files from Windows 8.1 that could work in Windows 7?

I don't believe that's possible. Even if it were, you'd likely face issues when things don't work as expected. While you can move all your files, it's better to reinstall software to prevent future complications.

I understand you can transfer from Windows 7 to a fresh Windows 7 setup, though it may still encounter issues. Switching from Windows 8 to Windows 7 is unlikely to succeed or be stable. It might seem frustrating now, but it could ultimately help you avoid more time and hassle later on.

It wasn't all smooth sailing with Windows 8.1. You mentioned a few issues, like metro apps struggling to close without switching to desktop and using the left bar. Let me know if you want more details on those problems.

Nisekoi. I made minor changes for the GIF, but it's a great show.

I’d always reinstall games, programs, and more—just ensure everything else is backed up. As the person mentioned, there are plenty of issues that can happen this way. Just go ahead and reinstall.

8.1 feels almost identical to the previous version, similar to 99%. If you can't locate your Windows key, consider using Belarc Advisor—it will show your Windows key along with other software keys.

I recently experienced a significant drop in performance, with boot times much slower than before. I spent the past few days attempting fixes, but none resolved the issue. It might have been easier to simply reinstall Windows, especially since I now have a clean fresh installation. Additionally, I haven’t located the W8 key anywhere—I’ve searched every spot where I’d left it, reviewed all my emails, and even checked my bank statements, but there’s no record of purchasing it. It seems I might have only imagined using it.
