We’re exploring ways to join Halo 1/2 co-op online on PC, including virtual LAN setups and split-screen options. For full campaign multiplayer games, especially FPS titles without RTS elements, I recommend looking into titles like Call of Duty, Battlefield, or Valorant. These support online co-op and offer robust multiplayer experiences.
Halo 2 still depends on GFWL, but Microsoft has stopped offering it in most cases—Windows itself complains about installing it. I’m uncertain about Halo CE either. LAN gaming would mean no split-screen features. For other PC titles I’ve tried: Rainbow Six (anything before Vegas can be hit and miss), Ghost Recon (same issue with older games), ARMA Borderland series, Saints Row: The Third (or any co-op version).
Besides the previously mentioned titles, Insurgency Sandstorm is expected to debut towards the year's end, offering a comprehensive campaign with potential for up to four players working together throughout.
