My 3-4 year old HP-17T, running Windows 10, suddenly starts opening programs from the taskbar. I suspect it might be a faulty keyboard, which seems unlikely to be worth repairing given the worn plastic exterior. Additionally, I'm experiencing issues with key recognition—what I think are older fingers aren't responding properly or are getting double-pressed. Any other steps I should take? Also, I can't even reach the computer and programs still launch unexpectedly.

I don't have enough experience with the Envy line of laptops to determine if they can be serviced. It might be useful to check for online guides or videos about opening the device and swapping the keyboard. If you manage to get inside, I'd consider whether cleaning it would be better than replacing it, but this depends on availability and finding the correct model and part.
