PC specifications and troubleshooting notes. AMD Ryzen 5600X Arous Elite B550M with 32GB Trident GSKill RAM at 3600MHz (XMP enabled). RTX 3060 Kingston SSD, 512GB, 750W FSP power supply. The system started normally until it failed to boot. After several restarts, it worked but then showed a sudden drop in RAM speed to 2133MHz in Windows Task Manager instead of the expected 3600MHz. No changes were made to BIOS settings. XMP was active, but speed remained low. CMOS reset and battery replacement didn’t fix it. Tried different RAM modules without changing XMP settings. BIOS updates to FC, FD, FE didn’t resolve the issue. Disabling XMP resolved booting but caused lag in BIOS. Need advice on next steps.

Check using CPU-Z for a more precise view. Task Manager can give inconsistent readings on DDR4 and newer modules, so it isn't dependable enough for full confidence. If problems persist, avoid XMP profiles. Instead, type in the manual frequency, timings (listed on the RAM stick as tCL-tRCD-tRP-tRAS), voltage, and if needed, set SOC to 1.15V—the standard operating voltage for optimal memory clocking.
