I’m trying to get the Windows 8 product key from my friend and plan to install it on a USB drive. I’m having trouble locating the redemption option and setting up the OS on the USB. Need some assistance.

You simply power on using the USB drive, and there’s no requirement to exchange anything. Once you’ve finished configuring your system, you’ll be able to type the code into the control panel, and Windows will likely ask for confirmation.
