Hello, your recent upgrade seems to be causing some performance issues during gameplay. After the first few minutes everything works fine, but once you start playing, CPU usage spikes dramatically while GPU drops significantly. This leads to freezing and crashes, especially in games like Resident Evil with a D3D error. Other titles just crash without such extreme spikes. Your hardware specs look solid—Ryzen 7 5800X3D, high-end GPU, and good RAM—but there might be a mismatch between your drivers and the new components. You mentioned changing MBO files and updating BIOS for B550F, but not installing a fresh Windows. Also, using DDR4 with XMP profiles can sometimes cause instability if not fully compatible. Consider checking for driver conflicts, ensuring all firmware is up to date, and verifying that your system meets the game requirements. If the problem persists, running a stress test or consulting a specialist might help.
It might relate to a software problem, especially after changing the motherboards. Reinstalling Windows could help. If you're okay with that, you could also return the motherboard for replacement. Alternatively, you could swap it in with an Asrock model to see if it works.
I plan to reset the CMOS, reinstall the RAM, and perform a fresh Windows and driver setup. That’s all I can manage. Honestly, I don’t like ASUS.
It's a common exercise. But not all think it's the best approach. Or maybe your windows are quite chaotic.
It's been about a week since I installed Windows. After three to four days I updated the MBO files, so I thought everything was fresh and only drivers were needed. I plan to do it tonight to check if the issue gets resolved.
