Hey everyone, I'm really upset... Motherboard: Asus Crosshair VIII Formula CPU – Ryzen 9 5950x with 4x32GB RAM, Gskill TridentZ Royal 3600Mhz, CL16-22-22-42, 1.45V GPU. GPU: MSI 3090 Gaming X Trio, PSU: Corsair AX1000 Custom Watercooled CPU & GPU. Recently my CPU drops to 0.5GHz and stays there until I power it off and restart. Restarting doesn't help. Sometimes it freezes completely; the only way is to cut power. What I've tried: turned off DOCP, updated BIOS (from 4201 to 4601), then tried stock settings. Manually set RAM and it worked instantly with DOCP. I thought the BIOS update fixed it because benchmarks passed. But after playing Citites Skylines 2 for a while, it dropped back to 0.5GHz again. Then it froze after a few minutes. The temperature on the screenshot shows water temperature.
Is this a four-pack of RAM? Is it listed on the QVL as four sticks? Are you certain it isn’t meant to be 1.35V? Have you tried booting in BIOS with default settings and only two sticks, without DOCP? Does it only drop down after heavy usage? It could be risky to change the BIOS if it’s unstable. Please let me know what you try next. This might take some time to solve without being able to swap parts for clearer results.
It's a four-piece configuration, but the part number isn't listed on the QVL. The sticker shows 1.45V. I'm using default BIOS settings with two Corsair drives (they aren't in the QVL, which is disappointing). It only responds after heavy tasks. I can change the board and CPU; I have a 3950X and a 5800X on other systems, but I don’t know which boards are available. Swapping the CPU seems simpler for troubleshooting. The water cooling is visible all over it. I'm getting around 3.6 to 3.7GHz per core with Prime95 (32 threads). It's currently at about 80°C, water level is rising, GPU is at 54°C and 69°C hotspot. That’s a good temperature, but I’m concerned. In December last year, a tube came out of a fitting, and the log showed water at around 46°C. I apologize if my English is unclear. My fans and pump run at 100% all the time. I have two EK Coolstream SE 480 rads and one EK Coolstream SE 420 rad. Maybe the fan choice wasn’t ideal or the rads aren’t powerful enough. I got 10x Corsair QL120 and 3x QL140 in my system. After about 45 minutes without issues, I tried DOCP for those sticks at 3600MHz CL18 and it crashed after 10 minutes under the same conditions. Could DOCP be the issue, especially since they aren’t listed on the QVL? Can I try running timings until it works, or is there another way?
I've turned off all stock PBO settings, but the system keeps crashing or freezing. I don’t know what’s causing this issue—it worked before, but now it’s not functioning properly.
