I understand this subject has been discussed extensively since I've put in a lot of effort to adjust my CPU's clock speeds. To be clear, I own a Ryzen 5 2600x with an Asrock b450m pro4 and haven't performed any overclocking on either the CPU or RAM. My setup uses a 120MM AIO cooler, and temperatures remain consistently low—around 70 during testing and gaming, dropping to about 40-50 when idle. At idle, I see usage between 5-7% while clock speeds hover at 4.1 GHz, occasionally dipping to around 2.7 GHz or 2.0 GHz depending on the core. The performance appears normal to me. I've tested Cinebench R20.060 and it matches other 2600x models well (score: 2836). The latest Userbenchmark results also show no significant difference. I'm pretty sure these clock speeds aren't optimal for my CPU. I'll share screenshots from MSI Afterburner, Ryzen Master, and a complete parts list. I've tried several troubleshooting steps: switching power settings to Balanced, High performance, and Ultimate; using Ryzen Master with default profiles; and running Malwarebytes which detected no malware.

Lmao your cpu will not give a flying sht about that and it will not degrade either, only time you should be worried of degradation is if you are running more than 1.6v cpu vcore so unless the 4.1ghz is somehow running at 1.6v or above theres nothing to worry about here All you are gonna do is nuke performance for nothing, so unless you wanna save your power bills then absolutely no reason to "fix" the cpu clockspeeds, heck id rather reccomend ocing instead since 2600x might be able to gain some performance from oc, only limit here would be 90c cause i doubt youll need any more than 1.6v (assume cpu deathzone ~2v)

Did you install chipset drivers from ASRock and use the Ryzen Balanced power plan? Avoid the Windows balanced option. Have you ever updated your BIOS? Keep in mind that monitoring may increase CPU usage, and Ryzen Master is the best tool for accurate monitoring. Get it from amd.com and check it out.

didn't you attempt to power it down and restart? no, but that seems typical. my i7-8700 doesn't support overclocking, yet it consistently runs around ~4.3GHz regardless of workload. it probably just reflects the normal temperature-performance relationship, and the advice is clear—if it works fine, don't attempt repairs.
