Processor runs at full capacity even when not in use on a newly assembled PC build.
Hello everyone, I recently assembled a new PC and encountered an issue where the CPU consistently reaches maximum usage at 100%. The temperature remains around 80°C. I've tried several fixes without success: I reattached the CPU cooler three times, checked that the thermal paste covers the entire CPU, reset the BIOS, set fans to full speed, and verified the specs. It seems the problem might not be thermal throttling. Could the radiator installation be incorrect or are there settings in the BIOS I should adjust? Thanks for any advice!
Check the process list to see which tasks are consuming the CPU, and it doesn’t idle at all
It's a fresh install of Windows 11. Even after a reset the CPU was still at 100% Seems like the task manager is taking up most of the CPU usage. Doesn't seem to make much sense
Everything is going fast, but there’s a lot of unnecessary stuff. Some extra programs take up a lot of space, like bloatware. The system, task manager, and Google are using ten times more than they should. My usage stays under just a few percent of the total. It’s strange!
Just did a 'reset to default' in the bios. But without success. Odd that I have so many processes then. It's a fresh Windows 11 install with Adobe Creative Cloud and Cinema4D only installed so far.
You might be experiencing multiple background processes? Your task view appears similar to the Task Manager, but it's very close to yours. I've turned off all unnecessary items during startup so they only load when needed. Additionally, I've disabled widgets since they're quite bothersome and I don't want Microsoft providing updates when I'm not interested.
It's strange... the build appears neat and well-organized, and the CPU temperatures are just right—no concerns there. Consider using HWinfo; it’s free and provides detailed insights into your hardware, including speeds, temperatures, and core utilization. With this app, you might be able to identify what’s consuming resources and optimize performance.
