The red line appears whenever I log back into my desktop. This has happened three times now. When the computer is idle or the display is off, my CPU operates at full speed. The power plan remains balanced, which you can see because when I begin tasks on the PC, the CPU automatically downclocks and functions normally. Why this happens isn’t clear since I can’t identify the specific program causing it.
Running a scan with MalwareBytes, I don’t believe it’s a mining malware. I’ve mainly used LoLminer, which is open-source and fully transparent. I’m quite comfortable working with PCs, etc. The only issue MalwareBytes detected was BitTorrent. I’ll attempt to uninstall that.
Being at 14% clearly indicates active operation. Idle implies near-zero activity, which isn't the same as simply having no tasks. Background tasks continue running.
