Hello, I'm experiencing an issue with my newly constructed PC. This is my initial build experience, and I’m unsure how to proceed. My system specifications are: CPU – Ryzen 5 2400G, GPU – Radeon RX 5600 XT, RAM – 16GB at 2666MHz, and motherboard – ASRock B450M Pro4. After finishing the build, I began playing several games and encountered consistently low frame rates in some titles, such as Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, which averages 30-40 fps. I'm unclear about what might be limiting my system’s performance. Could the Ryzen 5 2400G be contributing, or is there a possibility that the graphics card is defective? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of memory do you have: two 8GB sticks or one 16GB stick?
Is your display connected to the graphics card, rather than directly to the main board?
Have you installed the newest graphics driver from AMD?

My system has 2x8GB of 2666MHz RAM, and my graphics drivers are version 20.4.1, which I believe is the latest available. My HDMI cable is connected to my graphics card. Is it possible that my GPU is malfunctioning or damaged? Or could my Ryzen 5 2400G be limiting performance?

This might be due to various factors; we shouldn’t assume anything immediately. Could you please specify your monitor's resolution? Obtain and install MSIAFTERBURNER, then track the CPU core/thread activity and GPU usage while playing a game. Kindly inform us if any CPU cores or threads are consistently at 100% utilization, or if the GPU is approaching maximum capacity.

My screen dimensions are 1366 by 768, which is comparable to an older display. I will execute the tests and share the results publicly once they are finished.

I recently played Assassin’s Creed: Origins and I've included a screenshot taken while using Afterburner to monitor my system performance.

I’m struggling with this, and my attempts haven't come close to 100%, indicating a problem beyond the current configuration. It’s possible my RAM, at 2666MHz, is a significant factor, though I doubt it would cause such a substantial difference compared to using 3000-3200MHz modules.

The graphics card temperature is approximately 60 degrees Celsius / 140 degrees Fahrenheit. I was unable to locate the CPU temperature within Afterburner or Radeon Settings. Could you advise where else I might find this information? Furthermore, I observed that the GPU was operating at speeds ranging from roughly 850 to 1300 megahertz. Is it possible that this is due to undervolting or some other kind of adjustment? I suspect it might be capable of achieving higher clock speeds.

You might find it in Afterburner, but consider attempting Ryzen Master for your CPU.
