I'm considering purchasing a CPU. Should I opt for the 3600XT to save money now, or wait for the 5600X to become available and pay a bit more? My usage involves light video editing at 1440p and occasionally 2160p, plus casual gaming such as Among Us, Minecraft, Fortnite, and similar titles.
For 1440p and 4K GMAing the difference is minimal. However, since you edit, what about 3700x? 5600x still wins in gaming, but 3700x is slightly quicker for editing. So which do you prefer? Gaming=5600x, Editing=3700x. For 4K gaming there’s a small edge between the two. At 1440p there’s a noticeable gap. If you switch to 4K, expect around 3600 frames per second.
