Hi, for your deep learning and computer vision setup, let's clarify the options. The 3700X is generally more budget-friendly compared to the 10600K. Since you're using an RTX 3060 GPU, pairing it with a 3700X should work well. AMD processors are usually reliable for Python and C code, though performance can vary depending on the specific model. If you have any questions or need further guidance, feel free to ask!

You're aiming to build Skynet? Not really. I prefer being the top species on Earth. Are you starting from scratch or upgrading something? What's your budget looking like? I'm curious because the Ryzen 7 3700X offers more cores and threads than the i5 10600K, but if you're using an AMD or Intel platform, you'll also need a compatible motherboard. The AMD 3700X uses AM4, while the i5 10600K uses LGA1200, so if your CPU is older than the 10th generation, you'll need a different board.

Hello, you haven't purchased any computer yet, so it's brand new. I plan to buy a new motherboard. I'm a bit puzzled because I've heard that sometimes AMD processors can cause issues when running certain programs like Android Studio or Numpy. As mentioned, AMD is more affordable for my budget, but if Intel is essential, I'll consider getting one.

A few years back AMD faced problems with their BIOS updates and drivers. Many users had to remove the newest version and revert to an older one to get their hardware functioning properly again. I’m not sure if AMD will support your setup since I own an Intel board and CPU, and a friend once warned me about that.

Deep learning? The CPU isn't always important—opt for the most affordable one. My setup is a 3700x with Android Studio; the AVDs run perfectly, and I use OpenCV, TensorFlow and NumPy for all my projects.

I haven't used Linux or Ubuntu personally. Regarding Ryzen and Intel MKL, some users report compatibility issues, but it depends on the specific setup and drivers.

I run solely on Linux, excluding Ubuntu. I haven’t encountered any issues with Intel’s MKL, even though I didn’t use it directly. What I remember is that TensorFlow and PyTorch rely on it, and I’ve always had no trouble with either.

Thanks a lot for your reply. I'll proceed with the Ryzen 3700X.
