I recently assembled my first PC about a month ago, and most things worked well. I installed an app named Fan Control from a YouTube suggestion to manage fan curves without using BIOS. However, during setup I saw my CPU reaching a high 113°C and then shutting down. When I tried again, the same issue occurred—only this time with that app. After that, I removed the app since it’s no longer usable, but I’m concerned it might indicate a bigger problem. Temperatures are normal during gaming or other tasks. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I haven't used this tool before, but because it's open source and widely available, I think the chances of it being harmful are minimal. I usually assume open-source doesn't guarantee safety, but since it seems popular, someone likely checked the code. What device were you checking the CPU temperatures on? The temperature is 113°, which is well above the safe limit and likely triggers shutdown. (Also, what CPU model and motherboard do you have?)
I had the hardware monitor running, yet the CPU temperatures appeared in the fan control app. It shut down automatically shortly after I noticed the heat levels. The CPU model is 7700x, and I’m using an MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk with Wi-Fi. One possibility is that during assembly I placed the AIO block incorrectly, so I removed it and reinserted it—possibly leaving some thermal paste behind on the CPU. I was concerned it might have caused hot spots, but after a month of gaming, I haven’t experienced more overheating issues.
