Hey everyone, I'm checking if the tiny RAM delays really matter or if factors like MHz and CAS count also count. Should I pick a 3800 MHz, CL14 model with about 7.36 ns delay or a 4000MHz, CL15 model with roughly 7.5 ns delay? Assuming identical storage, price, brand, and XMP support for the higher speed.
It all comes down to whether you're a "pro" gamer or not. In my view, anything above 100 FPS is hard to see for the human eye. If faster RAM gives you about 20 extra frames and you're already at 100+, you're probably just wasting your money since it won't really make a difference.
The ns latency figure comes from combining frequency and CAS latency using a specific formula. It essentially measures how latency relates to frequency, making it a "latency or frequency" topic. Both aspects matter. Various workloads react differently to each component. Between these two products, I think they’re similar except for the XMP profile. I’d just choose at random.
