I understand this situation and know when to look up information. Recently, my new computer started showing random black screens every day since Wednesday. It happened twice during a game and again this morning while I was seeking advice from a friend. Although it didn’t cause a full crash, the overheating was concerning. My CPU temperature spiked several times, and I captured a screenshot of the heat. Experts suggested changing thermal paste, undervolting, or checking BIOS settings, but I’m also thinking about hardware issues or driver problems. Here are the details from the website I bought it from (iBP). I’m unsure which path to follow and am open to more suggestions.

Unlikely to be genuine. Stick to real monitoring tools such as HWInfo64 or the RTSS with MSI Afterburner. Their hardware quirks and expensive parts are just jokes. Consider swapping out your cooling solution for reliable options like the AK620 or Arctic Liquid Freezer II. The iBuyPower coolers are unreliable and prone to failure. There’s no technical barrier preventing drivers from working properly—just a need for better oversight, fresh thermal paste, and a solid cooler.

I examined the liquid cooler carefully and checked the thermal paste. It seems the maker may have left the protective plastic covering on the underside. You might want to swap out the original thermal paste with a fresh one—any amount works if you apply it well. Avoid using liquid metal. Instead, adjust the fan speed settings using your control tool, run the pump at full capacity continuously, and set the fans to reach a maximum of 70°C. When the system stops, allow it to cool or restart, then let it idle until temperatures normalize. Make sure the CPU stays within safe limits on that cooler.

I'll remember this and opt for an alternative, though the cooler needs some time. Appreciate the notice!

Paste exchanged for Corsair TM30, and I can confirm there is no plastic on the underside. I'll let things run for a few more days and see if it still has any issues. Thanks so much for replying so quickly too ;u;

It brings to mind a colleague facing a similar issue but can always verify their BIOS settings and ensure thermal monitoring is active. It seems my friend accidentally disabled it, possibly because they're new to using the system and rely on a mouse instead of keyboard shortcuts.

It could be the temperature sensor on the board has extra header connections; when they’re removed it shows 115°C, but keeping them active indicates an issue.

I slowed down the clock on my CPU using Intel Extreme Utility and adjusted the core ratios to manage its high power draw. It appears to be helping, and I’ll keep updating this in case others encounter the same problem.
