Processing load at maximum, but system performance is reduced.
Hey, so yesterday I turned on my PC to play games and noticed everything was maxed out. My clock speed dropped from 3.5 GHz to around 800 MHz, and the games started lagging badly. When I tried RDR2 and GTA V, they ran smoothly, but titles like OW, COD, and Valorant caused my system to panic. I own an MSI Z390 Ace with an 2080 Ti, an i7-9700K, 32GB RAM, and an 850W PSU—nothing seems to be restricting performance, especially since it’s been stable for a while now. Anyone know why this is happening? Also, when I close the games, they seem to reset to normal. The CPU temps are also unusually high at about 40°C, like it’s running too lightly.
I track performance metrics and temperatures regularly. The system is not overclocked; it operates within safe parameters.
I'm checking via NZXT CAM and it's stuck at 5GHz, though I previously turned off the disable setting to try and resolve the issue, but it still isn't working.
