Hey everyone, I just got a new desktop and noticed my games run smoothly from low to high graphics settings. My GPU stays at full capacity all the time. Is this normal? Let me check my specs: Intel Core i7 14700KF, AFTERSHOCK Glacier Mirror 360mm water cooling, Gigabyte Z790 GAMING X DDR5, RTX 4080, Super Windforce, 16GB/32GB Team T Force Delta RGB, 2TB Lexar NQ790 Gen4 SSD, 850W Deepcool, 80+ Gold ATX3.0.

You aim to utilize all your GPU power in games for the best frame rates. This matters mainly if your CPU reaches full capacity.

GPU is built to operate at full capacity, and overheating won’t shorten its life.

The best temperature for a GPU depends on the specific model and usage, but generally it should be kept between 60°C to 85°C during operation.

For AMD as well, your 6700 XT can reach high temperatures—up to 100°C at the hotspot—and that’s something to watch out for.

Yes, 100°C is acceptable; you might also adjust the fan curve if those temperatures are a concern. Do you have any case fans or ventilation options?

Adjusted the curve and reduced voltage, resulting in significant improvement. Installed an ATX mod for a 2005 Mac case, but airflow remains poor inside the large metal enclosure.
