Processing at 100°C without any workload

I've been struggling to fix my system for a few weeks now, under no load the temperature is usually at 95C and dropping down to less than 1 GHz. I just replaced the thermal paste and reinstalled the cooler with no improvements and I also cleaned off all the dust thats been hiding in there. this is a relatively new issue as I have had my PC in this configuration for about 2 years now I'm not sure whats left to try in fixing it and any help would be appreciated CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 Mobo: X570 Aorus elite wifi CPU Cooler: NZXT - Kraken 120mm Case: NZXT - H510i GPU: MSI armor 1080ti 32GB ram

Cooler looks less appealing now, so consider swapping it out. A 120mm AIO isn't great—opt for a mid-range air cooler priced around half the Kraken's cost.

Looks like the system is not working properly. As mentioned by PDifolco, consider using a quality air cooler such as the PA120 or a more affordable option like the assassin spirit or king SE.

It's still inside the box, though the applied paste is all blurred, so I might need extra paste before I can proceed.

If you manage to save the paste, it should work for testing. The stock level is likely too high right now—maybe it’s safe to assume it’s overkill for this situation.
