Following the latest Windows update my computer has been unstable. Now that I finish work I can't access the desktop at all. During startup it takes a long time to load and then displays a blue screen with the percentage stuck at zero. After rebooting it prompts for an automatic repair, but it keeps happening. I don’t understand what’s wrong with my PC! Two error codes appear before I can log in.

It looks like some damaged Windows files. If you can enter safe mode (or whatever version they call it now), you might revert the most recent Windows update and it could help. For a lasting fix, back up all crucial data, wipe the boot drive, and install a new Windows version.

It indicates that uninstalling the newest Windows update isn't feasible. Using a local Windows installation media and reinstalling Windows with downloaded updates is possible. Selecting "Keep personal data" ensures your private information remains unaffected.

You can still attempt, but it's wise to save crucial information. Don't rely on luck to keep your data safe.

You can try using an external drive or cloud storage to save your files. If you don’t have a computer, ask someone nearby to help you set up the backup.

Well, it really comes down to how much personal information you have stored on that device. I’m sure it’s a good idea to ask a friend for help making a backup. You can also buy USB drives or external hard drives at reasonable prices these days—great options for keeping your data safe. As I mentioned earlier, the choice is yours, but staying careful is always wise when things go wrong.
