I recently replaced my CPU and motherboard with a B550 and a 5600X, but now the system always boots into BIOS regardless of the connected drive. The only drive listed is my Windows boot drive on an M.2 NVMe SSD, yet it doesn’t appear in the boot order priorities. Could this be the reason it keeps going straight to BIOS?

Anticipate typical performance since it may be a previous Windows version with an MBR partition table. A fresh installation is strongly recommended, particularly if you didn’t thoroughly prepare the system before relocating. Consider turning on CSM (Legacy mode) in the BIOS and testing it; if it doesn’t resolve the issue, proceed with a complete reinstall.

Sure, I understand. A new Windows setup would be great. The last time I did that was six years ago, right?

Absolutely, it's a smart move to avoid issues, particularly with outdated installations!

It seems you're encountering issues with Windows that still have Intel-based drivers from a prior setup. A fresh installation might resolve the problem and ensure the correct AMD drivers are used.

Take a fresh storage device. Solid-state drives are affordable now, and upgrading is justified once your current drive reaches six years of use.

You’ve got a clean SSD and a Windows 10 USB ready. Just follow the installation steps from the USB drive, make sure to select the correct language and time zone, and choose the appropriate installation media. After setup, you can proceed with Windows 10 installation.

The system is brand new, but the window setup is six years old and has been duplicated from previous versions.

You didn’t set it up correctly. Did you make the USB using the media creation tool, and did you connect it directly to the motherboard? Try switching between UEFI and normal mode. Can you capture a screenshot of the BIOS showing the boot priority and detected storage?
