i’m facing some confusing problems... it’s hard to understand why. my home has a 1/1Gbit connection, but I’ve removed the 5/5 model because it didn’t perform well with 10Gbit speeds or router efficiency. i’m using an Altibox fiber router in bridgemode with Edgerouter ER4, routing traffic. everything runs at 960/960 speed on tests, but when i start a single Skype instance—either business or personal—I see speeds drop to 250-500mbps over 960mbit. my server still handles 960/960 perfectly, while my main PC slows down. i’ve reinstalled everything and tried new cables, even premium shielded ones, but the issue persists. when i close Skype in Task Manager, internal speeds return to normal. it’s strange, and i thought maybe the wiring was the problem. i’m missing Skype because many contacts rely on it. added note: during speed tests at 250-500mbps, I can still download over 100MB/s from the server internally, so skype isn’t affecting my connection. edited July 9, 2019 by RasmusDC
