I'm experiencing problems with Windows Update on my Windows 10 PC. I've managed to download and install every other update with a history receipt, except for this one. It keeps resetting, attempts to install, reaches 98%, and then says "Unable to Update and reverting your machine." I tried using the Elevated Client and ran several scripts, which repaired some corrupt update files but didn't stop the reset cycles. I'm looking for any advice or information to help resolve this issue. I'll keep adding details as I go along from Whits End. Thanks everyone!

Execute CMD prompt with admin privileges and run "sfc /scannow". Enter when prompted. Consider testing additional commands if repairs are needed.

Thank you for your prompt response. I attempted this command multiple times yesterday and it appeared to function, though the problem continued.

You're welcome. Consider using these DISM commands in sequence: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth, DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth, DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth.

Thank you for your prompt response. I attempted these commands multiple times yesterday and they initially seemed effective, though the problem continued. I encountered some error codes, but I didn’t record them properly. I’m confident the issue can be repeated. My IT colleague recommended checking my Windows activation key, though I haven’t used one recently.

It seems your problem persists. The error codes might provide useful guidance. Are you implying that Windows isn't activated?

Error Code: 0x800F0922 I successfully ran all commands and achieved the desired results. I plan to restart the machine and try an update again. Used: dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup sfc /scannow I also tried resetting the .NET Framework in Admin CMD, though some commands failed. Reinstalled .NET Framework 3.5 and updated via Windows Update. Error Code: 0x800736B3 ipconfig / flushdns - Didn't work net stop wuauserv - Worked net stop cryptSvc - Worked net stop bits - Worked net stop msiserver - Worked ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old - Didn't work net start wuauserv - Worked net start cryptSvc - Worked net start bits - Worked net start msiserver - Other forums suggest using Windows Update Troubleshooter, but I don't have access to that tool.

I just restarted my computer and the same problem occurred. I haven't tried your solution yet, SavageNeo.

I tried running the commands again in Admin CMD and installed Restoro. Still nothing happened. I’m considering setting a restore point and reinstalling Windows 10. If anyone has alternative suggestions, I’ll keep them in mind. Ultimately, I plan to reinstall Windows 10. If anyone has any ISOs that bypass this update, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks all!
