When attempting to upgrade Windows, you're presented with a choice to wipe your data. You wish to retain your files since they're essential, but you're concerned about re-downloading everything. Are there alternative methods to preserve your files during the update process?

You may retain your private documents and programs, but the configurations and tools will vanish. The final choice means all content will be removed, leaving nothing to choose from except deleting everything.
