Hi Everyone. I'm using a Minisforum BD790i motherboard with my main PC. The Ryzen 9 7945HX is powerful and offers good power efficiency. At first, I installed Windows 10 the same way I had used it before for other PC setups. It functioned well, mostly. I assumed Windows was in power saver mode, which usually kept the CPU around 4GHz and used about 40-50 watts. When I did more demanding tasks, it would speed up to over 5GHz and draw 80-100 watts. Recently, after a fresh Windows install, the CPU no longer behaves as expected—it stays stuck at around 5.2-5.4GHz and uses 80-100 watts constantly. When I switch to Power Saver, it drops to 1.6GHz but then jumps back up unless I set the processor state high, at which point it runs at 2.45GHz. It stays there most of the time, causing a slight lag unless I push it hard for a short while. I’d love to get back to the balanced performance and efficiency it provided, but I’m unsure what changed. I thought chipset drivers might be the issue, but I haven’t updated them and didn’t notice any differences. I also skipped Ryzen Master because most people seem to dislike it online.
