Initiated the upgrade from Windows 10 to 11 but am having trouble progressing past the BIOS setup. Secure Boot is active and ETPF is configured. It doesn’t appear to support Safe Mode or a bootable drive. My friend is visiting, and I’m trying to assist him. Looking at this now.

Returned to the older system, restored his functionality on Windows 10. Updates for drivers weren't possible and BIOS checks failed because no Wi-Fi was available. Likely the BIOS required an update or a disk needed partitioning. Boot devices weren't visible in BIOS without legacy mode enabled.

Legacy (CSM) mode will only boot drives formatted with MBR. Too boot in UEFI mode (non-CSM), the bootable drive must be a GPT volume. You can convert MBR to GPT, but there's always a risk of dataloss; be sure valuable information is backed up first. Also there's no guarantee sectors will be alighed. Non-aligned sectors for an SSD will dragmatically decrease performance and increase wear. It's easy to check though.

I've run MBR2GPT.exe multiple times in the command prompt without any data loss. Just keep updating the BIOS to UEFI so it can boot properly.

This subject is expected to gain traction since Battlefield 6 is a must-play. I’m glad the discussion helps, and thank you all for your support. I really enjoy this platform—everyone here is authentic.
