Hey everyone, I've been facing some problems with the new drive I recently bought and was looking for advice on what might be going on. I purchased a WD_Black SN850X (expected performance: 7300mb/s read, 6350mb/s write) to swap in for my old WD_Black SN750SE (expected: 3600mb/s read, 2900mb/s write). After installing it as the main drive and even transferring the data from the SN750SE, I finally got it running. However, I noticed the speeds weren't quite what I hoped for. When I opened the command prompt (winsat disk -drive ""), my readings were around 6000mb/4500mb. Is this variation typical? My SN750SE performed closer to its rated speeds. *I confirmed the NVMe ports on the motherboard (X570 Gigabyte Aorus) and also have another question—shouldn't my games and apps load quicker now?* I made sure all drivers were updated, but performance remained similar to the older model. In Task Manager/WD Black Dashboard, I saw speeds spike briefly to 2000mb/s before settling. Would you believe this is considered normal? *I also checked the speed tests: WD Black SN850X C:\WINDOWS\system32>winsat disk -drive e Windows System Assessment Tool...* The numbers were impressive, but still not matching expectations.

In BIOS the M.2 slot is configured as Gen4, not Gen4 slots. It’s set up for Gen4 compatibility.

The speed should align better with expectations without any significant gap.
