Hello everyone! My sister's laptop seems to lose power too fast—she charges fully but dies in about 20 to 27 minutes, which matches Microsoft’s prediction pretty well. I attempted to reset the battery using the pinhole at the back, but it actually made things worse. Now it only charges up to 24%, and the battery drain estimate still seems more reliable. The Acer care center reported that her battery has lost capacity from heavy use. Does this mean the battery is completely dead, or should I just recalibrate something? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
It's a 7-year-old laptop, and its battery is really worn out. Even if you replace the battery, you won't get back to how it used to last because this thing is old and now has to work much harder than before. The software and apps have changed a lot, so it can't do things the same way it did once.
