Problems with Ryzen 2600 and Corsair memory
Hey there, I'm here as a backup option. I'm using a Ryzen 5 2600 with a crosshair 6 hero mb and two 16GB Corsair Vengeance Pro sticks. I've experimented with various overclocking methods and configurations. The CPU runs smoothly, but the memory keeps fluctuating. Reports from Corsair show the CPU at 1050 MHz with specific timings, while Task Manager lists it around 2133 MHz. I've adjusted presets and DOCP settings on RAM, but it won't boot unless everything is set to default or auto. Anyone know the right manual tweaks to get this working? This is beyond my role.
You're experiencing an issue with the DOCP profile for the Crosshair 6 hero, specifically a 3200MHz clock that isn't posting.
They were purchased together. I reached out to Corsair support, and the representative kept advising me to use XMP settings, insisting I didn’t have that option for my Ryzen processor. I ran a MemTest86 on Windows, and everything checked out correctly.
Which RAM is this exactly? Model number? Speed it's rated at? What is written on the sticks themselves (not through software, look it up manually). Have you updated the BIOS to increase system stability with higher frequency RAM? Zen and Zen+ CPUs weren't that great memory compatibility wise and suffered from some issues like you're experiencing, updating the BIOS could help with that.
