Problems with MSI MPG Z690 Edge DDR4 BIOS and USB connections
I’m quite skilled at fixing things on my own, but this one has me puzzled. All the main parts of my computer are running perfectly—just the USB device keeps popping in and out, sometimes dozens of times a day. The name of the device is USBPDO-11. For the motherboard, my MSI MPG z690 Edge DDR4 isn’t booting up consistently. I thought maybe the BIOS was the issue, so I shorted jbat1 to reset the CMOS. It worked, if you have any advice or resources that could help, I’d really appreciate it. These aren’t total failures, but they’re super frustrating.

It would be useful to see the steps you've already attempted so we can avoid suggesting similar solutions. For the motherboard, I recommend updating the BIOS to the latest version if you haven't done so already—it's a typical troubleshooting action. Proceed from there. Regarding the USB problem, try disconnecting all USB devices one by one while checking the Device Manager for errors. This helps identify the specific device causing the issue. Once you pinpoint it, test the device on another computer if feasible; this confirms whether the problem lies with the device itself or its software/drivers. If the same error appears on a different machine, the culprit is likely a USB device. Issues with USB ports or controllers often affect multiple devices, so a faulty USB component can lead to both connectivity and boot failures. A bad USB device might also hinder the computer from booting properly.
