I have a GTX 970 I5 4590 with 8GB RAM and a 1TB Western Digital drive. I optimized GTA on GeForce Experience and adjusted the resolution to match my TV’s native settings. After this change, I expected smooth performance but experienced constant frame rate drops. The issue varied in intensity, and I’m unsure if certain actions trigger it, though maintaining 60 FPS isn’t working. I looked up my hard drive and saw some users reporting problems with this setup. Using the "self radio" feature also causes frame rate drops, which seems to be a common concern. My CPU and GPU appear capable of handling 60 FPS, but the fluctuations are noticeable. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Ensure MSI Afterburner is off. The latest version is causing frame drops in menus like the pause menu or purchasing items.

The most recent 1.28 update is affecting performance. It's best to reduce the settings to make it functional and keep an eye on a future fix from Rockstar.

Your setup has a CPU Q6600 and GPU 760, with 4GB DDR2 RAM. To improve frame rates and ensure proper benchmarking, consider optimizing drivers, updating firmware, and checking for compatibility issues. Make sure your RAM is correctly installed and supported by the system. Running stress tests or using tools like Cinebench can help identify bottlenecks.

Your processor is quite outdated, using DDR2 memory in 2015 isn't helping much, so I think the GPU is likely a GTX 760. In that case, your CPU is causing a significant performance issue.

I experienced significant stuttering problems with my GTX 970. The game didn’t perform as smoothly as we expected. Certain GPUs had more noticeable issues, while others were relatively stable. For example, the 980Ti ran perfectly without any problems. Regarding frame rates, my drops ranged from 80 to 30 fps, even falling as low as 15 fps on my older GTX 970.
