I'm using a high-end setup (not for gaming, just for fun). My system has a 5960x running at 4.5ghz, a 1070 overclocked to 2050 MHz, and 32 GB of RAM. Yet in GTA V I’m only getting around 40 FPS! I’ve reset the graphics settings to default and even lowered them to low, but it still doesn’t work. I’m curious—do others have similar setups? I thought having 8 cores would actually slow things down instead of helping, but this is faster than most 6700 or 7700K CPUs. Still, I wasn’t expecting such a big drop in performance.

update your drivers, it seems like you are having a driver issue. reinstall windows if all else fail.

The 5960x setup should run smoothly at 4.5ghz, delivering high frame rates in GTA V, particularly when paired with a 1070. Make sure the drivers are updated and reinstalled for optimal performance.

I've adjusted all my drivers for various settings I considered. Now I'm around 50-60 frames per second, though a person using a 144Hz monitor at 1080p for gaming still has room for improvement.

Grass texture and MSAA performance are often affected in GTA. This also applies to reflection MSAA.
