Problems with cooling for Ryzen 9 7900x
In reality, I might be exaggerating or being overly detailed. Even with tubes directed toward the bottom, air can still become trapped inside the block or pump. Over time—perhaps years—the pressure inside an AIO drops due to evaporation, and eventually the CPU area could contain more air than it can expel. A water pump can’t continue moving fluid once it’s filled with a certain amount of air. The fix is to reverse the AIO so there’s just one high point instead of two. I’ve experienced an AIO failure because of incorrect mounting, which matches this issue. Still, I mounted it in several ways incorrectly, so I’m mainly pointing out a subtle detail rather than declaring a total failure.
