I've encountered this odd problem with my new WD blue internal 1TB SSD recently. At random times it vanishes from file explorer and disk management. Recently, after a power cycle, it would appear again for a few minutes or a couple of hours before disappearing completely. The last time it stopped showing up, disk management still listed it as a 250GB drive needing formatting. I got frustrated enough to format it again as a 250GB drive, which worked fine and showed in disk management for about ten minutes before switching back to the 1TB SSD that required partitioning. I created a new partition, it appeared in file explorer and wiped everything—just a few games. Right now I'm reinstalling what was on the drive, but downloads keep freezing unexpectedly. This isn't happening with any of my other drives. Meanwhile, while typing this, the installation halted, the SSD vanished, and a popup asked me to format it before use. I also noticed the game would cause the SSD to spike to full activity and then freeze for about a minute. All connections seem secure, but I'm unsure if the drive is faulty, the SATA cable is bad, or power issues are present. Any advice would be appreciated.
