Hi, I recently relocated to a new home and am experiencing some connectivity problems. My house has fiber internet at 100mbps, but I can access full speed on certain devices while others struggle. The ISP installed the main router in the living room, which connects to a central hub managing Ethernet ports throughout the house. I set up my own router in the bedroom/office, and my main PC is linked via Ethernet—smooth performance there. My phone works well over WiFi too. However, when using my Mac on that router, I often lose connection, even though it seems online. It appears connected for a few minutes before dropping off. All other devices remain functional; I can stream YouTube or browse normally. Yesterday it got worse—no internet at all on the Mac, and after rebooting it, the issue resurfaced intermittently. This only happens with this network, not on any other WiFi I’ve tried. I also noticed a similar problem with my TV: it connects via WiFi to the main router, but I get intermittent playback issues, especially with 4K videos. The built-in web browser shows around 30-50mbps, which should suffice for streaming, yet videos sometimes freeze or pause. A TV troubleshooting tool indicates the device is connected, but the router lacks internet access. Other devices still connect without trouble. I’m puzzled—why do some gadgets work while others don’t? Could the router be faulty, or are there steps I can take to resolve this? Thanks.
