I completed a restore previously, but my search function is now unresponsive. No searches seem to retrieve results. I also see a warning about zero installer messages for DeepL. I attempted to uninstall and cleared the folder, but as an admin I lack access to special previous settings. This system runs Windows 10, dedicated to gaming. I’m thinking of switching to Windows 11 and see if that resolves the issues. The only option left is a full reset, and I’m not keen on adding browsers, launchers, games, mods, or extra programs. Would downgrading to Windows 11 leave me with a functional machine? What should I do next? Is this upgrade worth the effort of getting my PC back in working order? My processor is a Ryzen 7700X Strix 4090 on an Asus Z670E-A teamgroup 5600 with 32GB RAM.
Stick with Windows 10—it's a more reliable option compared to Windows 11. If possible, avoid using Restore unless absolutely necessary, as important data should be safely backed up elsewhere. If you have the means, such as backed-up files and a restore media or factory reset option, it's better to begin anew. Regardless of your choice, you can always use your existing Windows key.
everything in the search bar is great, especially with Void tools. For the "special permission," try using the CMD prompt as an admin and go directly to the folder to remove it that way.
Open Command Prompt with admin privileges. Execute DISM /Online /CLEANUP-IMAGE /RestoreHealth and press Enter. Then run SFC /scannow and press Enter to fix missing files. After completion, rebuild the search index at the provided URL. If issues persist, perform a Windows reset with the option to keep your files, ensuring all apps and personal data remain intact without reinstallation.
