NVMe startup needs EFI initialization to function properly. Windows EFI setup is compatible only with GPT-formatted disks. NVMe on non-UEFI boards: When the motherboard lacks UEFI BIOS, third-party tools like Clover or DUET are required to work around this restriction (with limited alternatives). NVMe on UEFI boards prior to 1997: The UEFI BIOS doesn't include a native nvmexpress boot code, allowing NVMe to appear as a bootable device in EFI mode. Without this feature, even after installing Windows, the system won't recognize a bootable disk. Windows 7 operates smoothly in Legacy mode by default. Windows 8, 8.1, and 10 may use EFI booting or UEFI-CSM by default (based on UEFI/BIOS settings) and also support Legacy mode. EFI booting tip: Choose "Windows Boot Manager" instead of relying on a standard GPT drive.

Thanks for pointing this out! It seems it helped you avoid another panic attack.
