Problema de pérdida de paquete durante descarga con pareja.
I'm experiencing packet loss while playing games and someone is downloading on her PC. Is there a solution that doesn't drastically reduce her download speed? I want her to stay connected without constantly adjusting limits based on my gaming activity. Current setup: Router model Asus RT-BE58U, 100/100 Mbit/s, fiber connection. Steps I've tried: QoS activated with adaptive settings and gaming mode. In the bandwidth monitor I set her priority to medium and mine to high.
It's caused by buffer bloat. If QoS isn't effective, restrict bandwidth in router configurations. Typically capping devices at roughly 85% to 90% of the measured maximum speed is sufficient to reduce bufferbloat. You can check speeds via https://www.waveform.com/tools/bufferbloat. Additionally, applying netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disable on both systems is advised.
It would be easier if browsers allowed download limits. Most sources are already restricted anyway, like file hosts. I’m curious what they’re actually downloading to fully use up the connection. Do you think only about 2MB per second is needed for online games? Try setting a lower limit—maybe around 3MB/s—and see how it affects performance. It seems the problem might be elsewhere, like how bandwidth is being used.
It seems like this might be a marketing ploy to promote routers. Some users claim the problem was resolved by others using specific solutions, even without sharing their connections. Maybe the real issue was different and a new router fixed it unexpectedly. I wonder why everyone expects all routers to include such features—why not just focus on improving performance? Also, I think limiting bandwidth could help, but I’m just pointing out that this particular review is being tested.
Great! You ran the test and identified the issue. I'll attempt the fixes you received.
