I possess an ASUS X570 Plus Wi-Fi setup with a Ryzen 3700X processor, a 750 Bronze PSU from EVGA, an NVIDIA 3080 Gigabyte Aorus, PCI slots featuring M.2 interfaces, and currently 16x2 GB of Corsair Vengeance RAM at 3200Hz. After installing another pair of RAM sticks from the same brand, I encountered a boot failure with one of the lights on the motherboard signaling VRAM issues. I attempted to swap the new sticks, but the problem continued. When using only two of the new sticks, the system functioned properly. I then reverted to my original B2 and A2 configuration, though I still need to utilize the remaining two sticks and slots. Someone has advice on resolving this so all four RAM modules can be used effectively?
Do both collections use the identical Corsair release, like v4.2? If not, Corsair often has problems matching versions, especially with Ryzen CPUs and the speed/model mismatches you've seen. In that situation, it’s best to discard your current collection, trade in it, and purchase a compatible set from another brand such as G.Skill, which doesn’t enforce this versioning for the same model.
Testing each stick in the same position and leaving others empty removes other influences. Most dual channel motherboards with four slots default to 2 and 4, not just AMD models. On my x570 board, each stick functions properly in any slot or two sticks in a combination, but four sticks trigger problems unless I increase the DRAM Current Capability, allowing significant overclocking afterward. Having four sticks on my system causes random shutdowns unless I follow the steps mentioned (compatible with every BIOS version).
