Problem with your computer's speed and responsiveness.
Earlier I chose to move from Windows 10 to 11, but because my computer ran so slowly I went back. Now in version 10 it feels better, though not quite the same. In titles such as Counter-Strike 2 and Rainbow Six Siege X the performance is top-notch, but with Final Fantasy XVI things slow down significantly. It’s a tough game, I’m aware, yet before switching to Windows 11 I played at high settings, almost ultra, and even at low it drops frames. The same issue shows up in a heavy Minecraft Java Edition pack. I’m not sure what might be behind this. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled drivers using DDU, tried overclocking manually and via the NVIDIA app, but results were minimal. I also verified all updates are current. What do you think could be causing this? Thanks!
If the problems are limited to these two titles, it could stem from issues within both games. For Minecraft Java, you often need to restrict the framerate and cap it, as the game tends to stutter, becomes extremely CPU-intensive if FPS is left open, and isn't stable for consistent frame times. You might also want to verify that the modpack has sufficient RAM, though I'm unsure if this is handled automatically or requires manual adjustment. Regarding FF16, the game is notably demanding on both CPU and GPU resources, especially as it runs later in the experience. I recommend following the optimized settings suggested in the video, since the early areas can mislead performance expectations. The most noticeable strain usually occurs in the forest near the title card drop.
The differences between Windows 11 and 10 don't affect your performance. There might be another issue at play.

Are you installing chipset drivers via automatic Windows updates or directly from AMD's site? If not, consider using the AMD installer. https://www.amd.com/en/support/downloads.../b550.html Have you confirmed the RAM is operating at 3200 MT/s?
Are you applying unique JVM options and increasing memory for Minecraft? Is the resizable bar turned off in your BIOS? Verify VRAM is fully utilized during FF16 playthroughs. Consider implementing a frame cap for FF16 to assess its impact.
I increased the RAM in the modpack, though I didn't adjust the JVM settings. I should verify the running memory for FF16.
