Problem with XMP functionality reported.
Hardware details: G.SKILL Trident Z Neo 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3600 Model F4-3600C16D-16GTZNC from ASUS Prime X470-Pro, AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Rosewill ARC 750W 80 PLUS Bronze. I attempted to apply an XMP profile in BIOS for optimal RAM speeds, saved the changes, and restarted the system. The process failed repeatedly, rebooting twice until it entered safe mode. This issue hasn’t occurred before, and I’m not very familiar with AMD products. Anyone have suggestions? I’ve also tried other RAM models previously.
1000 and 2000 series Ryzen CPUs perform poorly with RAM speeds above 3200MHz. The Trident Z Neo boards running at 3600MHz are better suited for 3000 series chips. You might attempt manual configuration of memory speed and timings for 3200MHz, but achieving stable performance with XMP settings on a 2700X is unlikely.
