Problem with XigmaNAS linking to the VM VNC server. Need assistance?
I've been using XigmaNAS (formerly Nas4Free) as a file server for my home network for several years. Recently, I attempted to set up an openSUSE Linux VM inside the virtualbox feature in XigmaNAS via its WebGUI. I managed to boot it up, but connecting to the VNC interface to view and manage it proved challenging. Earlier versions of XigmaNAS supported noVNC, but they removed this feature in later updates, and the current documentation is outdated. I recall using TightVNC to display the VM before switching to noVNC, but now I'm stuck figuring out the alternative method. Anyone have any insights or experience?
You're unsure about XigmaNAS but can reach it through SSH with a terminal app. I haven't used Xigma before, so accessing older VirtualBox VMs might be tricky—seems it was removed because of some problems. For the VM, make sure it's bridged for local network access, SSH into the user account, and set up a VNC server inside. If you need help, check Dell's enterprise guide for VNC setup and look up the tightvncserver package on OpenSUSE. A video tutorial for Ubuntu would also be useful.
