I tried to speed up my CPU by adjusting the BIOS settings and then reset it just in case. After resetting, Windows started normally but the search feature in the taskbar stopped working. I ran all the troubleshooting steps Windows suggested, updated the software, and restarted services, yet the issue persisted. Clicking the icon briefly opens and closes, while pressing the Windows key without typing anything causes no response. It seems to be a problem that needs further investigation.

It seems you're recalling a past issue linked to a recent update. That might guide your search toward the right resources.

I concur with @TomvanWijnen. You may attempt to rebuild the Index by accessing the Control Panel, enabling “Large icons” in the upper right corner, and selecting “Indexing Options -> Advanced.” After that, choose Rebuild from the Advanced Options menu.

I searched online for another hour and discovered a site with some code that worked to fix the issue. It seems the previous attempt to rebuild the index didn’t help. Thanks to everyone who tried to assist!
