He recently got a new PC and noticed W7 32-bit is installed. He has 8GB RAM but only half is being used. When the W10 update arrives, can he move to W10 64-bit? Or should I reinstall W7 64-bit first?

He purchased a brand of PC, and I’m checking if it was actually used.

He should definitely create backups of his photos and set up a fresh Windows installation. Even though I’m an IT student with more experience, my aunt built the PC for him, so she’s capable of handling it properly.

Oh man, that's a challenging situation. No worries, I didn't realize Windows 10 was still using a 32-bit version.

For Win10 64-bit devices, installing on a 32-bit system isn't feasible. Upgrade to a 64-bit version, create a preview image on a CD or USB drive, then boot from it to install the 64-bit editions. The guide you shared is helpful: http://www.sevenforums.com/installation-...sible.html
