So i recently updated my windows 10 for the first time because it is required inorder for me to install gears of war 5 from the microsoft store. I updated it but you have to right click on the windows icon to shut it down now? If i left click the windows icon now my search bar disapears. Is this normal?

Sometimes it does. It's a minor issue.

I just made a batch file for stopping and restarting Windows because it keeps saving your open apps. These commands are clean shutdowns or reboots. Use shutdown /r /f /t 0 or shutdown /s /f /t 0. The latter is a bit rough, so if you want a gentler stop, leave off the /t 0.

I created the shutdown shortcut image and placed it at the start menu.

I understand how to turn off my PC normally, just like you explained with a left-click and shutdown menu. After updating Windows 10, my icon stopped responding when I clicked it once. I tried right-clicking instead, which brought up the shutdown options. It was unusual, but everything has returned to normal now.
