You're trying to resolve webcam issues on your HP Envy 15-j106la with Windows 7. The recommended steps include checking for and installing SP1, KB3020369, KB3138612, and the convenience rollup for Windows 7 SP1. If those don't resolve it, formatting the system and installing Windows 10 Pro might be necessary. Consider trying each update in order and see which one works best for your setup.

Upgraded to Windows 10 for better security. Check your laptop's manual for BIOS settings or support pages to find disabled options. Review the drivers section and see if any updates are available. BIOS or support software might have restrictions that prevent detection. If the device isn't listed in Device Manager, it could be blocked at the BIOS level.
