Problem with updating the BIOS on ASUS CG5270-BP003.
Hello everyone, I’m building a tower for my uncle and noticed the display wasn’t showing anything from the graphics card (GTX 750 TI). After cleaning the inside of the case to remove dust, I tried troubleshooting. I found the motherboard manual online on ASUS. Right away, I unplugged the power supply, all the cards, the HDD, and the optical drive from the motherboard and case. I removed every card from the PCI slots and disconnected all connections from the case to the board. After securing my ESD protector, I took out the RAM and cleaned the pins as instructed. I cleared out the rest of the case and tested the power supply with a 24-pin tester—everything was normal. Then I connected the power supply back to the motherboard and reconnected the power button on the case. I reinserted one stick of RAM (240-pin, 2 GB DDR3) and hooked up a monitor directly via VGA. After turning it on, the motherboard lit up green, the fan activated, and the HDD started working properly. Still no video. I tried replacing the BIOS battery and restarted, but nothing changed. Next, I reset the CMOS—this resolved the issue and the screen displayed. Now I’m stuck again. When the monitor turned on, it showed “Going back to ASUS website.” I downloaded the BIOS and loaded it onto a new Toshiba 32GB USB drive formatted with FAT32. The computer booted into the Boot Lock screen and recognized the USB drive, trying to read the file named “CG5270.ROM.” The BIOS Recovery tool couldn’t find it, even though the name was correct. I then burned the file onto a CD and attempted recovery again, but the system still didn’t recognize it. I’m unsure if there’s an error with how I transferred or burned the file. I’ve tried different RAM sticks, changed the power supply, swapped the CPU, but nothing works. What should I do next?
