Problem with unstable turbo clock in I7-6600U processor
Hello everyone! I’m unsure what to do next. My Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5th gen W10DG with an i7-6600U processor is experiencing instability at high turbo speeds (2.8–3.4 GHz). It’s full of errors, BSODs, and weird artifacts, regardless of the operating mode. I found the ThrottleStop tool, which has a feature to disable turbo boost. Using it helped stabilize the system. I’ve owned a laptop for four years, but this is the first time it’s happened recently. I’d appreciate any advice! Thank you. P.S. I checked datasheets and forums; CPU-Z suggests VRM boosts voltage significantly. I tried lowering the voltage by 50mV, but the same issues appeared (~0.88–0.98 V).
