I encountered a timing problem with my Thunderbolt setup. My GPU is connected first, but whenever I plug in the Lenovo dock it gets removed, as if Windows instructed it to eject everything. To undo that, I have to unplug and plug it back in, then reconnect the dock. The current workaround is to connect both the Thunderbolt cable and power cable at once so the dock attaches first and doesn’t trigger removal. There seems to be no straightforward fix for disabling removal of non-HDD devices, since questions keep coming up about USB drives. If this isn’t working, maybe adding a power switch on the PCIe socket could let me power cycle the GPU while keeping the enclosure active.
