Hey there! I noticed your PC isn’t showing any display right now. You mentioned replacing an HDMI cable, but everything else seems fine—plugged in correctly and all cables are okay. Regarding the AC-97 plug, it’s likely a power adapter connector; check your manual or manufacturer site for the correct placement. Let me know if you need more help!

AC-97 is for front panel audio (headphone and microphone). It's an old standard that was replaced by HD Audio. I am assuming you must have an older case. Some cases had both, but I've only seen HD Audio in new cases for years now. Please give us the full specs of your system. To be clear, this is an existing system (not a new build) that was working correctly before?

Images and clips won't reveal much unless the person forgot to disconnect the cables.

It's a vintage setup using my very old components; GTX 970, i7 930, X58 Gigabyte motherboard, case. Also, I have both AC-97 and HD audio, though the AC-97 isn't connected.

No integrated graphics on that CPU means we can't rely on it for testing. Are the GPU fans active when the system starts? Have you experimented with various GPU outputs? Do you own any other GPUs that could be used for testing? Is there a debug indicator light on the motherboard? You haven't specified the memory setup. Have you attempted to boot with only one RAM stick in different slots?

I haven’t tried changing the RAM, I don’t have any GPUs left but it worked two days ago. The GPU fans all turn up when you start, but there’s no display. What debug lights are showing? Are they yellow-red besides the RAM indicator? There’s a “debug” or similar light in the image IMG_0047.MOV.

There are three fans, possibly too noisy. The CPU fan might be the main source of the sound.

Check if the RAM is present. Refer to the board manual for details on the indicator light.
